Design Walks: Finding Bold Color in the Everyday

Design Walks: Finding Bold Color in the Everyday

Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. On a walk through Harrisburg, I passed a house with a bold yet inviting color palette—royal blue siding, navy shutters, a bright yellow door, and red porch furniture. The combination felt both modern and full of character.

Out front, a cluster of soft green-white hydrangeas added a natural contrast. With my pom box of 600 colors in hand, I started matching shades right there on the sidewalk—pulling from the deep blues, warm reds, and fresh greens that made the scene so striking.

That spontaneous moment of color discovery led to this floral rug collection—where everyday inspiration meets thoughtful design, transforming a neighborhood walk into something woven and lasting.
