The Varese rug is one of GAN's most colorful proposals. Its braided design, which runs continuously throughout the piece, is made with thick tie-dyed wool yarns, a method in which textiles are knitted and then dyed, and which in this case has been applied to individual strands. This causes the threads to change color and create gradients.
This characteristic not only provides dynamism, but also a certain sense of spontaneity in its preparation. Conceived by the internal design team at GAN, Varese is made on manual looms using 100% virgin wool yarns. It is available in three sizes.
VARESE, A MODEL FROM GAN'S COLLECTION OF HAND LOOM RUGS
Deepening the possibilities offered by hand-operated looms, those at GAN have gone a step further by exploring not only the traditional flat hand-loom designs, but also elements with high volume, practically three-dimensional, using pure virgin wool that is knotted, cut, braided or looped.
